The work Untitled (Trafalgar Square Plinth) by Rachel Whiteread was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2017. The result of GBP 40,000.00 (€ 45,607.83) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rachel Whiteread achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Colours) in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 445,250.00 (€ 565,695.14).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Untitled (Trafalgar Square Plinth) von Rachel Whiteread kam im Oktober 2017 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 40.000,00 (€ 45.607,83) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rachel Whiteread erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Colours) im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 445.250,00 (€ 565.695,14).
