This artwork by Qiu Zhijie achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2021. In the Contemporary Art Asia auction, the work Interpretation Of Chinese Characters – Moon & Person sold for USD 18,750.00 (€ 15,966.96) - well above the upper estimate of USD 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Qiu Zhijie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 30 Letters To Qiu Jiawa L22 - Beyond sky there is sky, within the sea there is sea L23 - An exit from a tunnel is not always only where the light is L24 - In their contests, you do not have to become a winner in November 2016 with an auction result of HKD 1,500,000.00 (€ 182,785.03).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Qiu Zhijie erzielen.
