The work Caravan by Qiu Shihua was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2011. It achieved a price of HKD 237,500.00 (€ 21,245.48), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 58%. Admittedly, works by Qiu Shihua have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Wooded Pasture in November 2006 with an auction result of USD 138,000.00 (€ 104,064.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Caravan von Qiu Shihua kam im Mai 2011 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 237.500,00 (€ 21.245,48) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 58%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Qiu Shihua auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Wooded Pasture im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 138.000,00 (€ 104.064,55).
