Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Prosper Marilhat could be acquired at Sothebys in London in May 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 19th Century European Paintings auction, the work French vue De La Baie De Naples changed hands for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 26,069.90) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Prosper Marilhat have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Travellers at an Oasis in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 83,650.00 (€ 120,209.60).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Prosper Marilhat konnte im Mai 2015 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings wechselte die Arbeit French vue De La Baie De Naples für GBP 18.750,00 (€ 26.069,90) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Prosper Marilhat auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Travellers at an Oasis im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 83.650,00 (€ 120.209,60).
