Auction result well in line with expectations
In June last year Bonhams in London held the auction Orientalist Art, which included the work Evening by Prosper Marilhat. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,375.00 (€ 7,405.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Prosper Marilhat achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Travellers at an Oasis in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 83,650.00 (€ 120,209.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Orientalist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Evening von Prosper Marilhat zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.375,00 (€ 7.405,94) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Prosper Marilhat erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Travellers at an Oasis im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 83.650,00 (€ 120.209,60).
