Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2012 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work A Turkish pipe seller on a Venetian quayside by Prosper Marilhat. The price achieved of GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,089.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Prosper Marilhat achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Travellers at an Oasis in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 83,650.00 (€ 120,209.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Turkish pipe seller on a Venetian quayside von Prosper Marilhat zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.750,00 (€ 2.089,55) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Prosper Marilhat erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Travellers at an Oasis im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 83.650,00 (€ 120.209,60).
