In May 2013 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Art, which included the work A Fortified Village by Prosper Marilhat. The result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 29,228.90) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by Prosper Marilhat have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Travellers at an Oasis in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 83,650.00 (€ 120,209.60).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Fortified Village von Prosper Marilhat zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 29.228,90) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Prosper Marilhat auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Travellers at an Oasis im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 83.650,00 (€ 120.209,60).
