Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Day Sale, which included the work Rooster by Popo Iskandar. The price achieved of HKD 69,300.00 (€ 7,675.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 55,000.00 – 75,000.00. Admittedly, works by Popo Iskandar have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cockerel in November 2012 with an auction result of HKD 400,000.00 (€ 39,661.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rooster von Popo Iskandar zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 69.300,00 (€ 7.675,54) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 55.000,00 – 75.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Popo Iskandar auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cockerel im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 400.000,00 (€ 39.661,80).
