Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Popo Iskandar achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in June 2021. In the Modern Art Online: From Zao Wou-Ki to Le Pho auction, the work Macan dan Bulan (The Leopard and the Moon) sold for HKD 151,200.00 (€ 16,424.24) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Popo Iskandar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cockerel, which sold at auction in November 2012 for HKD 400,000.00 (€ 39,661.80).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Popo Iskandar erzielte im Juni 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern Art Online: From Zao Wou-Ki to Le Pho wurde die Arbeit Macan dan Bulan (The Leopard and the Moon) für HKD 151.200,00 (€ 16.424,24) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 70.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Popo Iskandar mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cockerel beobachtet, die im November 2012 für HKD 400.000,00 (€ 39.661,80) versteigert wurde.
