Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Popo Iskandar could be acquired at Sothebys in Hong Kong in November 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Figure and Form: Modern Art Featuring Bridging Generations, Property from an Important Southeast Asian Private Museum auction, the work Burung changed hands for HKD 25,200.00 (€ 2,801.98) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Popo Iskandar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cockerel in November 2012 with an auction result of HKD 400,000.00 (€ 39,661.80).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Popo Iskandar konnte im November 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Figure and Form: Modern Art Featuring Bridging Generations, Property from an Important Southeast Asian Private Museum wechselte die Arbeit Burung für HKD 25.200,00 (€ 2.801,98) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Popo Iskandar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cockerel im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 400.000,00 (€ 39.661,80).
