In April 2019 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work Jala-Jala Pantai (Shore Fishing Net) by Popo Iskandar. The auction ended at the price of HKD 75,000.00 (€ 8,537.18), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 55,000.00 – 75,000.00. Admittedly, works by Popo Iskandar have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cockerel in November 2012 with an auction result of HKD 400,000.00 (€ 39,661.80).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im April 2019 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Jala-Jala Pantai (Shore Fishing Net) von Popo Iskandar zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 75.000,00 (€ 8.537,18) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 55.000,00 – 75.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Popo Iskandar auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cockerel im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 400.000,00 (€ 39.661,80).
