The work Dua kucing hitam mata hijau (Two black cats with green eyes) by Popo Iskandar was sold in the Southeast Asian Modern and Contemporary Art auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2008. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 175,000.00 (€ 14,407.13), 46% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Popo Iskandar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cockerel, which sold at auction in November 2012 for HKD 400,000.00 (€ 39,661.80).

Die Arbeit Dua kucing hitam mata hijau (Two black cats with green eyes) von Popo Iskandar wurde im Mai 2008 in der Auktion Southeast Asian Modern and Contemporary Art bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 175.000,00 (€ 14.407,13) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Popo Iskandar mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cockerel beobachtet, die im November 2012 für HKD 400.000,00 (€ 39.661,80) versteigert wurde.
