Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Grossmut Begatte Mich / Sip My Ocean by Pipilotti Rist was auctioned at Sothebys in Zurich in December 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of CHF 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of CHF 5,250.00 (€ 4,278.79) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pipilotti Rist achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bar in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 80,750.00 (€ 127,998.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Grossmut Begatte Mich / Sip My Ocean von Pipilotti Rist kam im Dezember 2013 bei Sothebys in Zürich zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von CHF 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von CHF 5.250,00 (€ 4.278,79) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pipilotti Rist erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bar im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 80.750,00 (€ 127.998,69).
