Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Small Moments Of Little Joy (Gallery Version) by Phillip Allen was auctioned at Sothebys in London in September 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,403.54). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Phillip Allen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in March 2015 for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 9,505.05).
