Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2015 Christies in London held the auction A Visual Odyssey Selections from LAC (Lambert Art Collection) Staged by Jacques Grange, which included the work Classic Gambit (declined version) by Phillip Allen. The price achieved of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 3,496.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Phillip Allen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in March 2015 for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 9,505.05).
