Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Brigitte Bardot by Philippe Halsman was sold in the PhotographsSummer Edition auction at Bonhams in New York in August 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,040.00 (€ 1,728.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philippe Halsman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Marilyn Monroe Jumping' in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 100,000.00 (€ 75,941.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Brigitte Bardot von Philippe Halsman wurde im August 2021 in der Auktion PhotographsSummer Edition bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.040,00 (€ 1.728,81) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Philippe Halsman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Marilyn Monroe Jumping' im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 100.000,00 (€ 75.941,68).
