Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Marilyn Bookcase by Philippe Halsman was sold in the The Gift of Photographs auction at Bonhams in December last year. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,657.50 (€ 1,549.36) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philippe Halsman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Marilyn Monroe Jumping' in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 100,000.00 (€ 75,941.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Marilyn Bookcase von Philippe Halsman wurde im Dezember letzten Jahres in der Auktion The Gift of Photographs bei Bonhams versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 1.657,50 (€ 1.549,36) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Philippe Halsman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Marilyn Monroe Jumping' im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 100.000,00 (€ 75.941,68).
