In April 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Modern Image: Photographs from an Important American Collection, which included the work 'Marilyn Monroe Jumping' by Philippe Halsman. The »bidding war« ended at USD 100,000.00 (€ 75,941.68), 67% above the upper estimate. This high result makes 'Marilyn Monroe Jumping' the most expensive artwork by Philippe Halsman that we have observed at auctions so far.
