Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Salvador Dali with magnifying glass by Philippe Halsman was auctioned at Bonhams in London in November last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 280.50 (€ 325.04). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philippe Halsman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Marilyn Monroe Jumping' in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 100,000.00 (€ 75,941.68).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Salvador Dali with magnifying glass von Philippe Halsman im November letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 280,50 (€ 325,04) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Philippe Halsman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Marilyn Monroe Jumping' im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 100.000,00 (€ 75.941,68).
