Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Philippe Cognée achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Paris in September last year. In the Un regard sur le monde : Collection Comte & Comtesse Jean-Jacques de Flers auction, the work New Orleans sold for EUR 27,720.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 10,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Philippe Cognée; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Vanité No. 6 sold at auction in October 2021 with the realized price of EUR 37,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Philippe Cognée erzielte im September letzten Jahres bei Christies in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Un regard sur le monde : Collection Comte & Comtesse Jean-Jacques de Flers wurde die Arbeit New Orleans für EUR 27.720,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 10.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Philippe Cognée; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Vanité No. 6 im Oktober 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 37.500,00.
