Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June last year Artcurial in Paris held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Le Caire - 2002 by Philippe Cognée. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 18,368.00 22% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Philippe Cognée - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Vanité No. 6, which sold at auction in October 2021 for EUR 37,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni letzten Jahres führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Le Caire - 2002 von Philippe Cognée zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 18.368,00 und damit 22% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Philippe Cognée mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Vanité No. 6 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2021 für EUR 37.500,00 versteigert wurde.
