In September 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Made in Britain, which included the work Shoreham-By-Sea by Philip Wilson Steer. The result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,231.29) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip Wilson Steer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tired Out in May 2014 with an auction result of GBP 674,500.00 (€ 828,982.26).

Im September 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Made in Britain durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shoreham-By-Sea von Philip Wilson Steer zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.231,29) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Philip Wilson Steer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tired Out im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 674.500,00 (€ 828.982,26).
