Auction result misses estimated price range
In June last year a collector was able to acquire the work Miss Pettigrew in Blue Dress, Seated by Philip Wilson Steer for GBP 27,720.00 (€ 32,202.75). This price was achieved in the auction Modern British Day Auction at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip Wilson Steer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tired Out in May 2014 with an auction result of GBP 674,500.00 (€ 828,982.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Miss Pettigrew in Blue Dress, Seated von Philip Wilson Steer für GBP 27.720,00 (€ 32.202,75) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern British Day Auction bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Philip Wilson Steer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tired Out im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 674.500,00 (€ 828.982,26).
