Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Christies in London held the auction The Collection of Sir Nicholas Goodison - British Art: Innovation and Craftsmanship, which included the work Study of a girl sewing by Philip Wilson Steer. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,890.00 (€ 2,223.41) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip Wilson Steer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tired Out in May 2014 with an auction result of GBP 674,500.00 (€ 828,982.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion The Collection of Sir Nicholas Goodison - British Art: Innovation and Craftsmanship durch, in der auch die Arbeit Study of a girl sewing von Philip Wilson Steer zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.890,00 (€ 2.223,41) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Philip Wilson Steer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tired Out im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 674.500,00 (€ 828.982,26).
