Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Onement by Philip Taaffe was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in London in October this year. The price achieved of GBP 23,940.00 (€ 27,489.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip Taaffe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Midnight Blue in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 434,500.00 (€ 302,239.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Onement von Philip Taaffe wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 23.940,00 (€ 27.489,77) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Philip Taaffe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Midnight Blue im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 434.500,00 (€ 302.239,84).
