Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Madapollam by Philip Taaffe was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art Online auction at Bonhams in July this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 28,800.00 (€ 26,134.30) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 22,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip Taaffe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Midnight Blue in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 434,500.00 (€ 302,239.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Madapollam von Philip Taaffe wurde im Juli diesen Jahres in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Online bei Bonhams versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 28.800,00 (€ 26.134,30) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 22.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Philip Taaffe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Midnight Blue im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 434.500,00 (€ 302.239,84).
