Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Collection of Douglas S. Cramer, which included the work Kissango by Philip Taaffe. The price achieved of USD 11,340.00 (€ 10,019.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip Taaffe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Midnight Blue in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 434,500.00 (€ 302,239.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion The Collection of Douglas S. Cramer durch, in der auch die Arbeit Kissango von Philip Taaffe zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 11.340,00 (€ 10.019,44) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Philip Taaffe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Midnight Blue im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 434.500,00 (€ 302.239,84).
