Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Collection of Douglas S. Cramer, which included the work Eleanor by Philip Taaffe. Here, the upper estimate of USD 9,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 10,080.00 (€ 8,906.17). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip Taaffe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Midnight Blue in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 434,500.00 (€ 302,239.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion The Collection of Douglas S. Cramer durch, in der auch die Arbeit Eleanor von Philip Taaffe zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 9.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 10.080,00 (€ 8.906,17) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Philip Taaffe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Midnight Blue im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 434.500,00 (€ 302.239,84).
