Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Curated, which included the work Male and Female Models with Balloon, Chair and Old African Drum by Philip Pearlstein. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 50,400.00 (€ 42,919.19) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Philip Pearlstein - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Model With Empire State Building, which sold at auction in November 2010 for USD 170,500.00 (€ 130,791.65).
