In the The Collection of the Late John Appleby: A Channel Island Treasure House auction, the work The Royal Squadron at anchor on the 2nd September 1846, taken from Belle-Vue sold for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,456.24) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 4,000.00. Admittedly, works by Philip John Ouless have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View taken from under South Hill, St Helier, Jersey in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 57,650.00 (€ 68,891.66).
