Sold at the lower estimate price

In May 2011 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Study of the topsail schooner Telegraph by Philip John Ouless. The result of GBP 400.00 (€ 457.40) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip John Ouless achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View taken from under South Hill, St Helier, Jersey in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 57,650.00 (€ 68,891.66).
