In June 2013 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Art, which included the work A Royal Thames Yacht Club Schooner Off La Corbière Lighthouse, Jersey, Channel Islands by Philip John Ouless. The price achieved of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,024.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Philip John Ouless have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View taken from under South Hill, St Helier, Jersey in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 57,650.00 (€ 68,891.66).
