This price was achieved in the auction First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 6,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Peter Tunney; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot WTF (Whiskey Tango Foxtrot) sold at auction in March 2013 with the realized price of USD 37,500.00 (€ 29,260.30).
