Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Video Disques by Peter Sedgley was auctioned at Phillips in London in June 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 625.00 (€ 706.36). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Sedgley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Counterpoint in January 2020 with an auction result of GBP 62,500.00 (€ 74,343.05).
