In May 2007 Christies in New York held the auction Post -War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session, which included the work Pathfinder by Peter Cain. The »bidding war« ended at USD 28,800.00 (€ 21,407.86), 60% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter Cain - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Omega, which sold at auction in November 2019 for USD 77,500.00 (€ 70,333.06).

Im Mai 2007 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post -War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pathfinder von Peter Cain zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 28.800,00 (€ 21.407,86) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Peter Cain mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Omega beobachtet, die im November 2019 für USD 77.500,00 (€ 70.333,06) versteigert wurde.
