Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Post-War British Art, which included the work Three Figures by Percy Wyndham Lewis. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 16,250.00 (€ 23,145.71). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Percy Wyndham Lewis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Red portrait, which sold at auction in June 2000 for GBP 39,950.00 (€ 63,325.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2015 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Three Figures von Percy Wyndham Lewis zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 16.250,00 (€ 23.145,71) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Percy Wyndham Lewis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Red portrait beobachtet, die im Juni 2000 für GBP 39.950,00 (€ 63.325,67) versteigert wurde.
