Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Percy Wyndham Lewis achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in April last year. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Portrait of a Lady sold for GBP 3,825.00 (€ 4,561.18) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Percy Wyndham Lewis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Red portrait in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 39,950.00 (€ 63,325.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Percy Wyndham Lewis erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Portrait of a Lady für GBP 3.825,00 (€ 4.561,18) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Percy Wyndham Lewis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Red portrait im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 39.950,00 (€ 63.325,67).
