Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Percy Wyndham Lewis achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2016. In the Brian Sewell - Critic & Collector auction, the work An oriental design sold for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,238.28) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Percy Wyndham Lewis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Red portrait in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 39,950.00 (€ 63,325.67).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Percy Wyndham Lewis erzielte im September 2016 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Brian Sewell - Critic & Collector wurde die Arbeit An oriental design für GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.238,28) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Percy Wyndham Lewis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Red portrait im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 39.950,00 (€ 63.325,67).
