Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A View Of A Church By A Square With Figures Carrying Baskets by Paulus van Liender was sold in the Old Master Drawings auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,456.61) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paulus van Liender - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A winter landscape with figures skating on ice in front of the Oostpoort, Delft, which sold at auction in November 2011 for EUR 12,500.00.

Die Arbeit A View Of A Church By A Square With Figures Carrying Baskets von Paulus van Liender wurde im Januar 2019 in der Auktion Old Master Drawings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.456,61) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
