This artwork by Paulus van Liender achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2003. In the OLD MASTER PICTURES AND DRAWINGS auction, the work A tree by the gateway to a castle, an extensive landscape beyond sold for EUR 1,673.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 800.00. Admittedly, works by Paulus van Liender have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A winter landscape with figures skating on ice in front of the Oostpoort, Delft in November 2011 with an auction result of EUR 12,500.00.

In der Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES AND DRAWINGS wurde die Arbeit A tree by the gateway to a castle, an extensive landscape beyond für EUR 1.673,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paulus van Liender auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A winter landscape with figures skating on ice in front of the Oostpoort, Delft im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 12.500,00.
