In the Old Master and British Pictures and Old Master Drawings auction, the work A distant view of Amersfoort with tobacco plants by a drying shed, a church spire on the background sold for GBP 2,880.00 (€ 4,216.69) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paulus van Liender - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A winter landscape with figures skating on ice in front of the Oostpoort, Delft, which sold at auction in November 2011 for EUR 12,500.00.
