It achieved a price of GBP 22,680.00 (€ 25,802.88), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 51%. Admittedly, works by Paul Thek have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (five works on newspaper) in October 2018 with an auction result of EUR 175,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 51 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Untitled (cityscape) von Paul Thek kam im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 22.680,00 (€ 25.802,88) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 51%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Thek auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (five works on newspaper) im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 175.000,00.
