In March this year Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Untitled (beach with figures) by Paul Thek. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 25,200.00 (€ 28,669.87), 40% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Paul Thek have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (five works on newspaper) in October 2018 with an auction result of EUR 175,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (beach with figures) von Paul Thek zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 25.200,00 (€ 28.669,87) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Thek auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (five works on newspaper) im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 175.000,00.
