This artwork by Paul Thek achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June this year. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Untitled (Beach Grass) sold for GBP 27,720.00 (€ 32,261.31) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Paul Thek have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (five works on newspaper) in October 2018 with an auction result of EUR 175,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 85 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Paul Thek erzielte im Juni diesen Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Beach Grass) für GBP 27.720,00 (€ 32.261,31) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Thek auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (five works on newspaper) im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 175.000,00.
