Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Two men throwing words at each other by Paul Thek was worth EUR 112,500.00 to a buyer in June 2019. This price was achieved in the auction Art d'après-guerre et contemporain, vente du jour at Christies in Paris and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of EUR 35,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Paul Thek; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Untitled (five works on newspaper) sold at auction in October 2018 with the realized price of EUR 175,000.00.

Die Arbeit Two men throwing words at each other von Paul Thek war einem Käufer im Juni 2019 EUR 112.500,00 wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Art d'après-guerre et contemporain, vente du jour bei Christies in Paris erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 35.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Paul Thek; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Untitled (five works on newspaper) im Oktober 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 175.000,00.
