This artwork by Paul Thek achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Paris in June 2019. In the Art d'après-guerre et contemporain, vente du jour auction, the work Boy Flipping sold for EUR 68,750.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paul Thek - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (five works on newspaper), which sold at auction in October 2018 for EUR 175,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 96 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Paul Thek erzielte im Juni 2019 bei Christies in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Art d'après-guerre et contemporain, vente du jour wurde die Arbeit Boy Flipping für EUR 68.750,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 35.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Paul Thek mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (five works on newspaper) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2018 für EUR 175.000,00 versteigert wurde.
