It achieved a price of USD 15,000.00 (€ 13,600.51), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. Admittedly, works by Paul Pfeiffer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Race Riot in November 2006 with an auction result of USD 144,000.00 (€ 108,589.10).

Die Arbeit Burial at Sea von Paul Pfeiffer wurde im März 2020 in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 13.600,51) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 50%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Pfeiffer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Race Riot im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 144.000,00 (€ 108.589,10).
