Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Sandwiches on Tray by Paul Outerbridge. It changed hands for a price of USD 7,620.00 (€ 7,210.45) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Outerbridge achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ide Collar (An Advertisment made for Geo. P. Ide & Co.) in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 314,000.00 (€ 370,021.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sandwiches on Tray von Paul Outerbridge zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 7.620,00 (€ 7.210,45) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul Outerbridge erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ide Collar (An Advertisment made for Geo. P. Ide & Co.) im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 314.000,00 (€ 370.021,21).
