Auction result misses estimated price range
In October this year a collector was able to acquire the work Four perfume bottles, advertising, c. 1924 by Paul Outerbridge for USD 2,520.00 (€ 2,384.56). This price was achieved in the auction A Century of Art: Photographs from The Gerald Fineberg Collection at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Outerbridge achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ide Collar (An Advertisment made for Geo. P. Ide & Co.) in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 314,000.00 (€ 370,021.21).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Four perfume bottles, advertising, c. 1924 von Paul Outerbridge für USD 2.520,00 (€ 2.384,56) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion A Century of Art: Photographs from The Gerald Fineberg Collection bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul Outerbridge erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ide Collar (An Advertisment made for Geo. P. Ide & Co.) im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 314.000,00 (€ 370.021,21).
