Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Paul Drury achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2001. In the Twentieth Century Prints auction, the work September sold for GBP 1,410.00 (€ 2,278.77) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 700.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Paul Drury; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot September sold at auction in May 2005 with the realized price of GBP 1,680.00 (€ 2,480.21).
